From my early childhood days of raising “Bobbin the Robin,” the orphaned baby bird that one day appeared in my backyard, I somehow knew that caring for animals was my natural calling. I decided I wanted to be a veterinarian as a young boy, and what a great decision that was! My career as the owner and medical director of the Melrose Animal Clinic is a dream come true.
I’ve had my own menagerie of pets, from fish, hamsters and guinea pigs, to parakeets, dogs and cats. I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the many ways pets enhance their owners’ lives. Animals seem to understand, demonstrate and remind us–clearly and simply–what is truly important. They love deeply and unconditionally. They don’t care how we look or how successful we are. They sense when we are happy and comfort us when we are sad. They are naturally forgiving, and will give us as many second chances as we need. They know instinctively how to care for their young, lovingly and with just the right mix of encouragement and firmness to prepare them to venture out on their own when their time comes. We can learn many life lessons from our pets.
This genuine love and respect for animals is at the heart of the Melrose Animal Clinic. Each and every member of our team is a pet parent and avid animal lover. We view our pets as our furry family members and treat them accordingly. We understand the important place your pets hold in your hearts, and recognize the trust you are placing in us when you come to the Melrose Animal Clinic for their care. As a fellow pet lover and pet parent, you have my promise that we will care for your pets with the same love, compassion and commitment that we give to our own.
We look forward to welcoming you and your pets to our big, furry family!
