Michele Eagan: Veterinary Staff in Melrose

Michele Eagan, Hospital Administrator

I have worked at the Melrose Animal Clinic since 1989. I have “come up through the ranks” so to speak and thoroughly enjoy my current position as Practice Manager. I attended the American Animal Hospital Association Veterinary Management School in Colorado, and I am also a member of the VHMA (Veterinary Hospital Management Association).

Every day is different at the clinic, some are sad, some are happy, but each day always provides a personal sense of fulfillment. I truly have found my passion and feel every day is a learning experience and a chance to cultivate the human/animal bond.

I have a houseful of both human and furry children, currently consisting of two daughters, one son, three dogs, and one kitty that rules us all.

Janet: Veterinary Staff in Melrose

Janet, AS, Certified Veterinary Technician, Technician Manager

I grew up in Melrose and graduated from Melrose High School in 1993. I joined the MAC team in 1996 and plan to be a “lifer”! I am married with two children and currently own “The STUDIO” a dance school here in Melrose. I truly love working with animals, especially in the areas of dental radiology and helping grieving families cope with the loss of their beloved pets.

Linda_Paolini

Linda, Office Manager

I started working the front desk at The Melrose Animal Clinic in June of 2010. I was promoted to Office Manager almost three years ago. The MAC is home to me and I cannot imagine working anywhere else. I am so proud to be part of such a dedicated, hardworking and compassionate team!

Growing up, we always had cats (and litters of kittens), as well as gerbils, hamsters and birds. I have always loved animals and nature. I have always been a "people" person as well.

For ten years I worked in human services, job coaching adults with special needs until I became a mom and stayed home to raise my family. When my children were older, I decided to venture out into the workforce again where I was lucky enough to find the
best job I have ever had!

At home, I have a feisty little terrier mix named Princey and a beautiful black cat - Chloe. Both of my furry kids came to me through the clinic. When I am not working, I love to hike the local ponds and be near the ocean with my dog, or hang out with my
children who are both adults now!

I am grateful for the opportunity to see so many amazing pets and their owners every day. I look forward to many more years here at The Melrose Animal Clinic.

Annalise: Veterinary Staff in Melrose

Annalise, Client Care Representative

I joined the MAC team in January 2018 and I feel so lucky to be part of it! I graduated from Salem State University with my bachelor’s in business administration and have volunteered at a local animal shelter for a couple of years now. I have always loved animals since I can remember and always wanted to work with them. I have two cuties of my own, a black lab mix named Aquinnah, and a tabby named Tinsel.

When I’m not working, you can find me walking Breakheart with my dog, or in warmer days, at the beach or playing tennis. I love getting to know our patients and clients. It is truly so rewarding to work here!

Gerald: Veterinary Staff in Melrose

Gerald, Client Care Representative

I joined the MAC team in the summer of 2018. I have worked in the veterinary field for over ten years, and I finally found my forever home! I am so glad to be part of an amazing team!

Becky: Veterinary Staff in Melrose

Becky, Assistant Office Manager

I was raised in Melrose and after getting married, returned here with my husband to raise our two daughters. I joined the Melrose Animal Clinic in 2014. It is wonderful being part of such a caring and supportive staff. I enjoy getting to know our clients and their pets!

In addition to my family, I have two wonderful dogs, Maggie and Brody, as well as two guinea pigs, Winni and Binx.

Paula: Veterinary Staff in Melrose

Paula, Client Care Representative

I grew up in the area and live with my husband, two children, two dogs, Rosie and Riley, and a bunny named Peter.

I was a stay-at-home mom for many years and just recently joined the team at the Melrose Animal Clinic last summer, and what a great place it is to work! I really enjoy working at a place where I get to share my love for animals.

Carrie: Veterinary Staff in Melrose

Carrie, RN, BSN, Certified Veterinary Technician

I have been with the Melrose Animal Clinic since January 2012 and find myself so lucky to be part of such an amazing team! I received my degree in veterinary technology from North Shore Community College in 2003, and have been a certified veterinary technician since 2006. I am also a registered nurse, receiving my B.S.N. from Salem State College in 2008. I currently reside here on the North Shore with my two wonderful kitties, Milo and Ruby. In addition to my passion for animals, I also enjoy vacationing, running, camping, skiing… pretty much all aspects of outdoor fun!

Marci: Veterinary Staff in Melrose

Marci, Certified Veterinary Technician

I am a certified veterinary technician (CVT) and have been working at Melrose Animal Clinic for a little over a year now. I receive my degree in veterinary technology from North Shore Community College in 2000. I love all aspects of my job and try to be the best advocate for the patients. I’m also a big believer of providing a “fear free” experience for all pets.

Outside of work, I enjoy volunteering at a local animal shelter, snuggling with abused/neglected animals. It’s so rewarding to see them receive love and a second chance at life. I also have a fiancé, two awesome kids, my dog, Izzi, and two cats, Purrdie and Moose. I love spending time with them all!

Allison: Veterinary Staff in Melrose

Allison, Certified Veterinary Technician, Inventory Manager

I joined the Melrose Animal Clinic team in early 2013. I feel so lucky to have become part of what truly feels like a work family, and I am proud of what I get to do with them every day.

I have worked as a veterinary technician since graduation from North Shore Community College in 2003, and I achieved my certification in 2008. As a tech, my primary areas of interest are laboratory procedures, surgical nursing, and client education, especially for new puppy owners. I have also been working as an assistant in the NSCC Vet Tech program’s Surgical Nursing and Anesthesia course since 2011, and I am grateful and honored to help teach vet tech students in a practical setting.

My husband and I have two dogs and one cat: Luna, our mellow Golden Retriever; Petty, our hyperactive black Lab/Hound mix; and Graham, our marshmallow of a tabby. In my free time, I enjoy reading, music, and random trivia.

Brittany: Veterinary Staff in Melrose

Brittany, Certified Veterinary Technician, Assistant Technician Manager

I first joined the Melrose Animal Clinic in 2015 as an intern during my schooling at North Shore Community College. Prior to NSCC I received my bachelor’s degree in animal science from UMass Amherst. After graduation from NSCC I joined MAC full time as a technician and received my technician certification. Since then I have been promoted to the assistant technician manager where I strive to provide the best care to clients and patients, and advocate for the best treatment of my fellow technicians. As a technician my primary interests are dentistry & laser therapy.

At home I have an entire zoo of pets of my own including a Chiweenie named Max, six cats, most of whom I acquired through MAC, two cockatiels and a menagerie of tropical fish. Outside of work I enjoy attending as many country music concerts as possible with my sister, spending time with my adorable nephew, and relaxing at my family’s house on Webster Lake in New Hampshire.

Biography coming soon...

Erin,CVT, Melrose_

Erin, Certified Veterinary Technician, Exam Room Manager

I started working at Melrose Animal Clinic in March 2018. I started as a receptionist while I was working towards my vet technician certification. I went to North Shore Community College for Veterinary Technology and, shortly after graduation, passed the national exam to be a Certified Veterinary Technician. Some things I love about my job are dental care, surgery, and training new technicians. I have a chihuahua mix named Wally who keeps me very busy. In my spare time, I love to travel, spend time with my family, and go out with my friends.

Katie F: Veterinary Staff in Melrose

Katie, Veterinary Technician Assistant

I joined the Melrose Animal Clinic family in September 2011. I never thought I’d be so happy to come to work every day! I have always had such a strong passion for animals ever since I was a child. I hope to take my VTNE test in the near future to become certified. The staff and clients make the clinic such a warm and comfortable place to spend every day. It’s so rewarding to be able to help improve the lives of the sick and healthy all day long.

I have two cats, Bubba and Rosie, and a very sweet Border Collie named Kali. Kali is the most lovable, loyal, and sweetest girl you will ever meet. She has endless energy and is always by my side. She is extremely smart, but don’t give her a ball or she won’t leave you alone for days. Bubba (also known as Petie) was my grandmother’s cat. When my grandmother passed away, Bubba desperately needed a home. He has grown up knowing only my grandmother, and was very fearful and could be aggressive, so it was almost impossible finding him a new home, but he had taken a liking to me. When everyone had given up on him, I decided to take him home to join my family. It’s been a tough year trying to get him adjusted to his new home, and living with another cat and a dog, but he has come so far. He has made such progress, and I am so glad I gave him a chance to live out his life. He is a whole twenty pounds of special, but he is an Olympic snuggle bug and I love him dearly. Rosie, even with her princess attitude, is so full of spice and we adore her, it is quite comical watching the two of them battle it out.

Courtney

Courtney, Veterinary Technician

I have loved animals all of my life and always knew veterinary medicine was my calling.  I had my own dog walking business when I was younger and volunteered at the local animal shelter.  I entered into the veterinary field as an assistant in high school and have since been a veterinary technician for the past 5 years.  I joined the MAC in July 2019 and have loved every minute I spend with my new work family.  My goal is to one day become a veterinarian, but for now, you can find me at home with my two dogs: Avery and Simon,  and my three cats:  Angel, Mousse, and Willow!

Allison_Callahan

Allison, Veterinary Technician

I’ve had a passion for animals from an early age and always knew I wanted to work in the veterinary field.

I grew up in Melrose and joined MAC in the summer of 2020 as a new grad from the veterinary technology program at NSCC. It is wonderful to be working with such a hard working and dedicated team here. I’m now working on my certification to be a CVT.

When I’m not at work, you can find me taking my two dogs, Nala and Canon on hikes or snuggling on the couch with my cat, Buffy.

Rebekah

Rebekah, Veterinary Technician

I joined the MAC team in June 2021 and it has been such a rewarding experience! This unique group of skilled individuals have helped me grow as a veterinary technician in so many ways. I feel incredibly lucky to be a part of such a driven work family and I truly feel as though we make a difference in our patient’s lives every single day.

I graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 2016 with a BS in Marine Affairs and a minor in Marine Biology. My devotion for the marine world began at a very young age but so did my love for animals. In 2019, I made the decision to pursue additional education through North Shore Community College’s veterinary technology program and graduated in 2021. One day I hope to transfer my skills and knowledge of veterinary medicine to the marine field!

Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, whale watching, and spending quality time with my four rescues: Sarabi - a sassy feline, Gus Gus - a curious chinchilla, Bellatrix - a mischievous rabbit, and Petrie - a tailless crested gecko.

Amy

Amy, Veterinary Technician

I have been a Veterinary Technician for over 21 years. After graduating from UMASS Amherst Animal Science and Equine Industries in 1996, I began veterinary career at the MAC. I am extremely fortunate to recently rejoin the MAC family again in 2021. To be a part of such a caring, supportive, compassionate, hardworking and goal orientated TEAM that is dedicated to providing the best veterinary care for our furry friends is just incredibly rewarding.

When I am not at the clinic, I can be found working as a Floral Designer for Salvy the Florist of Lynn. Outside of my careers I spend my time with my fiancé Steve and our 3 Pitbulls Muscles, Dutchess, and Panda and our Netherland Dwarf rabbit, Gary. I do enjoy gardening, floral designing and just staying active.

Katelyn_Eagan

Katie, Veterinary Technician

Joining the Melrose Animal Clinic back in July 2020 was one of the best decisions I have ever made! I have always had pets but had never put much thought into having a career centered around animals. Now I can say I wouldn't change a thing! I truly feel like

We are one big family here at the clinic and we never know what we are going to experience at any given moment. I do know that we all handle it together and to the absolute best of our abilities. I feel so proud to work here!

Wallace, Kellie

KELLIE, VETERINARY TECHNICIAN

Kellie began working at the Melrose Animal Clinic in March of 2008, and is what you would call a lifer-- hooked on helping pets and their human companions. While her journey has taken her down many different paths since then, the one that remained constant was the love and passion for working with animals and this amazing team of people.

Kellie received her Ph.D. in criminal justice in 2019, and when not working here at MAC you can likely find her on campus at Lasell University, where she is an assistant professor. She love teaching and reaching people, and feels fortunate that she has been able to bring passion and advocacy for animal welfare into her role, as well. When not at the clinic or in school, you can find Kellie at home snuggled up with either of her dogs, Charlie the pit, Sullivan the Great Dane, and Trout the mutt, and/or her cats, Sebastian, Grell, and Undertaker (aka Taco), reading a book or watching a documentary.

Sabrina_Doyle

Sabrina, Veterinary Technician Assistant

Hello! My name is Sabrina and I’ve been a veterinary technician for 4+ years. My favorite parts about working at MAC are the level of compassionate care we strive to give to every patient and client and the level of human grade medicine we provide to our patients.

One day I’d love to work with exotics and wildlife and help out with the conservation efforts out in Africa.

At home, I love spending time with my dog Blue, my cat Nugget, my two ferrets Ravioli & Fettuccine, my two green cheek conures Zazu & Maui, my sun conure Duckie, and my two Indian ring-necks R2D2 and Leia- all of which are rescues.
